Welcome to UMPA

Welcome to University Medical Practice Associates (UMPA), one of the leading multispecialty group practices in Manhattan. We offer patients not only top-notch primary care services, but also a full spectrum of high-quality subspecialty services -- from allergy treatments to travel medicine. UMPA also provides expertise in highly specialized areas like electrophysiology and offers a Home Visit Program for frail and elderly patients.

Our internal medicine practice includes over 100 experienced physicians who are board certified in internal medicine and its subspecialties. Our doctors are members of the Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Mount Sinai Roosevelt. They are highly skilled professionals who are dedicated to providing quality care.

A Wide Range of Specialists

Since UMPA is a multidisciplinary practice, our physicians work closely together to offer patients integrated care. If a patient’s illness or disability calls for the expertise of more than one specialty, the practice can coordinate care among its physicians for the patient’s convenience. Our patients have access to healthcare professionals in a wide range of specialties, including:

Various Specialty Centers and Programs

We also offer numerous specialty centers and programs aimed at treating specific health problems, as well as better serving special patient populations. For example, our James P. Mara Center for Lung Disease conducts clinical research and offers patient education, Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Smoking Cessation Programs.

UMPA also has a very strong focus on cardiovascular disease (CVD), with initiatives like the Heart Failure Program, the Hypertension Program, the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Program and the Center for CVD Prevention. There is a Su Corazón program, which focuses on heart disease in the Latino community, and Women’s Heart NY, which raises CVD awareness and offers wellness programs for women. We also offer an Arrhythmia Service (the Al-Sabah Arrhythmia Institute) for treating patients with irregular heartbeats.

In addition to heart and lung maladies, we feature various other centers and programs aimed at treating diseases and promoting wellness. They include:

Our patients also benefit from the extensive technical support and professional resources gained through our affiliation with Mount Sinai St. Luke's and Mount Sinai Roosevelt and Mount Sinai Health Systems, an integrated health services network extending throughout the New York metro area. These relationships give us access to the most cutting-edge technologies in all medical disciplines.
