New Multispecialty Group Opens on the Upper West Side

The Department of Medicine at St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals announces the opening of UMPA at 81st Street, a new multispecialty practice on the Upper West Side. Formed earlier this spring, the new medical group is part of University Medical Practice Associates (UMPA), the department’s outpatient faculty practice. UMPA has established various practice sites in Manhattan, especially on the Upper West Side and in Harlem.

The new UMPA office, located at 280 West 81st Street, offers a broad range of primary and specialty care services to adults. “We’ve added a number of skilled specialists to Dr. Vincent M. Esposito’s primary care practice at 81st Street,” said Nadine Blair, UMPA practice site administrator. The office now includes experts in cardiology, diabetes management, gastroenterology, pulmonary medicine and women’s health.

“Dr. Esposito’s practice is well-known on the Upper West Side for quality primary care, and the addition of these new specialists broadens the expertise offered to patients,” said Ms. Blair.

In addition to Dr. Esposito, the medical team includes Afet Seider, DO, MD (primary care); Inna Bukharovich, MD (cardiology); Ella Ares, DNP, DCC (diabetes management); Andrew Blank, MD (gastroenterology); Mirna Mohanraj, MD (pulmonary medicine); and Diana Vargas, WHNP-BC (women’s health). And Saiera Babaeva, MD (primary care) will be joining the group this summer.

The practice site plans to be active in the community and offer free health screenings twice a month. For example, the medical group will be holding blood pressure screenings on Thursday, July 12 and 26, between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
